I found this La Rosa Especial Humidor on Ebay. I'm not sure I'm going to get it at this price, but I like it and might try to keep an eye out in the future IF it's any good. Any of you have experience with these, essentially, marketing humidors? It is in brand new condition so one could only assume it seals well and is in good condition. If you would buy one would this be a fair price or what would your max be?

I'm aware I can find cheaper humidors, I like the look of this one.

Glad you asked for opinions brother...in MY opinion, it's worth about half that. (n) For such a small humi, you'd be better off saving your scratch and getting yourself a cigar cooler. I love mine:

If you really want a traditional humidor, some of the other guys here will point you in the right direction. But in my experience, all roads eventually lead to a wineador. Also, we on BOTL are the worst bunch of enablers on the planet...;)

I've honestly been leaning toward a wineador, I'm in the Southwest (at the moment) and I'm concerned about the heat and humidity. I just found this craigslist ad of the same humidor, I'm not sure if the sticks make it a better deal or not but I'm beginning to lean towards no. Also a little Google-fu has led me to find this humidor was a limited edition between 10 and 20 years ago but only sold THEN for between $100-120.

Hmm... i may be backing away slowly

Don't get me wrong; it definitely *looks* nice; but from a value standpoint the wineador would be a much better investment IMO. FWIW, two months ago I was about to spend thousands on an artisan-built, one-of-a-kind humidor build with a local woodworker. Thankfully the brothers quickly talked me off that cliff. (y) You can fit a metric schload of cigars in a wineador, it's temperature controlled to prevent tobacco beetles, and in my experience thus far (a month), the humidity is very easily controlled because of the rubber door seal and consistent temperature. All things considered, you'll get a better return-on-investment and have more money left over to start filling it up! :cigar: See what the other guys have to say, but I think most will agree with me...

I'm with zippo on this one. Unless you're lighting your cigars with hundreds, I'd use the money on a wineador instead. Especially if you're struggling with storage temperatures.

That's nice. But...needs more cowbell

Christopher Walken jokes aside. I hate to push someone down the slope. But I looked at all kinds of humidors when upgrading. Went with the winedor (which, now I realize, I would have done down the road anyway) and couldn't be happier.

Winedor, where asthetics and functionality meet, and F***

I love my Winador. We had the AC go out two years ago and I had to send my small Humidor to a friends house to keep them safe. I got a Winador not and my only problem has been fighting the urge to fill it. When the RH gets up to 68, I add a shot glass full of Distilled Water and it drops down to 63. Its that easy to maintain. (Kitty Litter all the way!!!)

I got this one from Thompson Cigar, ohhh boy, years ago. Actually paid $75 for it and never ever steered me wrong. Seals perfectly and sits nicely atop my dresser in my room. I do agree with the guys though and if budget allows get yourself a wineador. Or a decent sized, tabletop humidor for now. Don't sell yourself cheap either if you go that route like I did. You want this to last a lifetime and then some. Especially if you buy sticks that mean a lot to you or are extremely rare and expensive.
