For my Son's Birthday, I am putting together a small New Air 121 Wineador with Forrest made Drawers. I'd like to also stock it up with some good samplers, but don't want to go crazy on the budget. He prefers a Medium to Strong blend and says he has been leaning towards Cigars from the Domincan Republic lately. He really enjoys cigars that are "Earthy, Creamy and Leathery" I'll have about $80-$100 to budget for the Cigars. I am looking for a good blend of quality/quantity here. I was thinking of getting 4 bundles of 90+ Selects from CI, but those are more Nicaraguan (which is more peppery and is my preference). Any suggestions on some sticks or samplers I should be considering?

I would say go quality over quantity. Its a tough call as I am sure you would want to make it look as full as possible but if he really likes cigars he would probably be happy with a good sampler as opposed to a bunch of mediocre. Just my opinion.
good luck.

Maybe a mix. Some quality and some tonnage of seconds. I have two drawers. Right.

Lfd double ligero. Medium to full. Pretty reasonable price too. You can get a box of 20 4"x52 for $108 at holts.com. Also la aurora has pretty decent cigars starting at around $3+ a stick.

Not sure what size he likes, but I've had good experience with BrickHouse Maduros. Not expensive, but a good, solid smoke.

I'll also second the LFD suggestion. Nice and earthy. The Double Ligeros can be a bit strong if he's just starting out, but they are great sticks.
He is not a new. His pallet is far more developed than mine. First thing he did when he went to College was to start a Cigar Club. I'll definitely check those out.
