Recently, I have been experiencing issues with larger or longer cigars, where the burn sometimes get wonky (helping the OE wonky burn contest thread) and where the cigar expand in the last inch, preventing proper nubbing. The occurence is larger than I ever had.

Now, the weather has recently changed to warmer and humider. I also recently got a wineadore, so my conditions aren't the same as same time last year.

I keep them at 66-69 degrees F, and the RH oscilate between about 67% and 71% depending on the days.
I have had some rather well constructed cigars do that to me, like a Tatuaje TAA 2014 or an Undercrown - those generally have perfect burns down to the nub.

Is there something I need to change in my storage? Should I blame weather?
Can I do something to reduce the effect and occurence of the issue?

Any help or opinion is welcomed.

I don't think the ambient temp or humidity would play much of a role, because it takes quite a while for the moisture level to change in a stick. 90 minutes of smoking in a warmer, more humid climate won't change much.

I do know that larger cigars have always given me more burn problems, period. When I had my humi set for 70/70, these problems were much worse. Lowering it to 65% has done wonders for all my cigars -- especially the larger RGs. My $.02 !
