I've burned my palate before. Had no real evidence or major precursor as to why but went three days with every smoke tasting like a skunked IPA. I gave myself a few days break... Back to normal. Just work your way back in with a lighter bodied smoke that you're familiar with after your hiatus.
Trying again. Now I'm worried that my taste buds are the problem because this doesn't have as much flavor as I'm used to...I hope I didn't just waste a perfectly good cigar.

I'm in Cincinnati, OH and the allergens are definitely in full attack mode. Hopefully this is a one night thing because I took a few days off of work (which I never do) to enjoy some bike rides and cigars in this beautiful weather. Haven't smoked too much more than normal in the last few days, but perhaps the combination has taken its toll.I agree with this 100%. My last vacation I smoked a lot more than normal (3-5 cigars per day every day). By the end, I couldn't taste anything. Take a few days off and your taste buds will bounce right back.
Also, not sure where in the country you are, but allergies in the New England area are insane right now. If you're even a little congested, that would do it too.
Try the Oliva V series. A LOT more flavor and complexity.First and last Oliva. Thing has zero flavor. The smoke doesn't even taste like smoke.
Sounds like a great combo, love that beerIn the man cave tonight with a Cromag EMH and some Old Speckled Hen.
