So last Tuesday evening, I went to smoke some cigars with my pastor, some of the other men from my church, and some visiting Russian pastors we're hosting.

I brought my 18ct Herfador so there would be some quality smokes available, and we all had a good time. There was the usual mix of real cigar smokers, casual smokers, and guys who smoke as a novelty at these types of gatherings.

As I was getting ready to leave someone closed my Herfador and handed it to me. I didn't get around to opening it until this morning. Upon opening, I found this :

Apparently someone saw this barely smoked cigar and decided it should be saved. The smell was awful. Fortunately almost all the good stuff was smoked just evening, so only a few bargain sticks were in there, but the plastic and foam smell wretched! And this is my favorite Herfador with my BoTL tax sticker on it. Really hoping airing it out and washing the foam fixes everything...

This has happened to me before. Letting it air out for several days was sufficient, but the partially smoked cigar in mine was only there for maybe 12 hours.

Hopefully airing it out will work. Might need to replace the foam, but the plastic can't really be hurt. I'd set it outside for a day let the sun hit it. At night, close it up with some baking soda/charcoal inside. Sorry that happened, but at least it sounds like you had a fun night!

My other question - was it even your cigar? Or did someone think you'd want to smoke someone else's left overs?

I once left a half smoked cigar (in a ziplock bag, which I planned to pick up smoking when we got to our destination) in the girl's $1k+ Louis Vuitton purse, forgot about it until the next day and it reeked. After much research this worked after several days, wipe it down with water, then leave dryer sheets in it. I'd leave it open as well, but the dryer sheets will absorb the smells.

I do that all the time. Good aging technique. That way you get a taste of the fresh cigar and a taste of the aged one.
