Any plumbers here??

I have a water leak in my yard.... Again. They ran pvc up to about 5 ft from the house. Copper lines from there on. The union has failed twice now, using a glue on pvc to threaded coupler, and then sweating a copper Union on that screws to the pvc Union. The glue on coupler is what has failed twice now. What is the best way to fix this for more than four years? Needs to be something I can get at Home Depot or lowes. Push lock fittings sound good, but can't find any for pvc, just cpvc.

What size pipe? I would think you could use shark bite fittings? Or maybe a compression fitting? Someone at home depot or lowes should be able to help.

1" pipe. Thing is that I have to send my wife because I'm working this weekend. Not sure about long term durability burying those fittings. They are approved for underground service though.

They should have a compression connecter that has rubber seals that compress as you tighten them, no glue to fail. We use them a lot at the college, just fixed a 2" line that froze this past winter, 48" underground and it froze. Anyway, they are plastic with the rubber seals in the compression ends. They do work. I ain't no plumber though.

We used SharkBite fittings for a similar problem and it was nearly effortless.
Hop into HD and ask the plumber guy about the same. He may steer you in another direction altogether.

I usually send my wife to places like that. Not only because I do not like to, but because she often gets better service and more explanation.

Seems there is no push lock fittings for pvc, only cpvc.
Pvc is measured ID, cpvc, like copper is OD. 1" pvc has an outside diameter roughly 1-1/4". Gonna throw on a compression fitting for now while I do more research.....

Souixchief adapters.
Glues to the pvc, and threads into a female copper adapter.they make one to sweat to a copper Union too.

But your still relying on glue, underground in the moisture. I would still fear failure over time. But as I said, I ain't no plumber.

Yep griz those work well also. they make them in brass also which I like a bit better. i have never had a problem with glued joints juts plastic threaded joints underground.

Yep, we use a lot of the brass ones also, but I didn't think lowes or Home Depot may carry them, just plastic. Like I says, I ain't no plumber. I know just enough to be extremely dangerous
