Just fired up a Nica Rustica and am wondering...what's the purpose of a closed-foot? Is it just an affectation, or is it intended to make lighting easier? My experience is that they do light a bit easier, but tend to burn unevenly.
From my perspective, and resulting into uneven burn, the gymnastics required to light them up ain't called 'easy'Just fired up a Nica Rustica and am wondering...what's the purpose of a closed-foot? I absolutely agree with this statement. I like the idea of being to smoke the wrapper by itself to see what flavors from the cigar comes from the wrapper. I wish more companies would do closed foots."wrapper blast"...
the first few puffs, you get the flavor of the wrapper, almost exclusively..
(and it looks cool )....
Shaggy foot is so you get a blast of filler before you get to know what the wrapper tastes like and for further benefits you can make a mess before you get started.I guess it's all about looks. What about shaggy foot?
They ARE cool! I'm a sucker far a closed foot cigarThey look cool therefore that's the purpose to look cool!
as many years as you have been here and you have to ask THAT question? really?Cigars have to have shoes!

Wow, I finally disagree with Saka on something!Aesthetic only... personally I am not a big fan as it drops bits of ash almost immediately after the initial light.
