Anyone have a favorite wine pairing with cigars. I have a Arturo Fuente grab reserva at home and we are going to a nice winerry me and my wife love. Was thinking I'd get a nice bottle to have with the cigar. So what's a good style...or brand. They have a nice sangiovisa (probably spelled way wrong) that had nice cherry and tobacco notes that I thought would be good.

I tend to agree with ^. Im sure there are good combos but as someone that loves a good cigar and also loves a good bottle or two of wine, prob not a pairing that I would enjoy. with that said I would probably go the route of big cigar big wine or mild cigar with mild wine. Otherwise I would more than likely drink a good scotch or wiskey or even a nice cup of coffee or ice water. Just my 2 cents. Im sure Pete Johnson might disagree.

Port wine was born to be enjoyed with a cigar! :cigar: Sandeman Tawny Porto is my daily go-to drinker. Just acidic enough to cleanse the palate between puffs while being incredibly rich, with notes of cherry and raisin. Nice mouthfeel. Give it a try, preferably with a basement-temp chill on it (~62 degrees). (y)

I do have to agree with the other guys here: few wines pair well with cigars. (n) Port is an exception, as is Madeira (another variety of fortified wine). Both are dessert wines with 17-20% ABV. The trouble with Madeira, in my experience, is the extremely high acidity. It's very unpleasant to my palate; so I stick with Port. YMMV.

Yep, I quit trying to pair wine with cigars, till I met Jason. Port is really good stuff and pairs well.

Thanks for the port advice guys I'll give it a shot. Decided not to buy the wine to try with the cigar. The wine is really good and I'm hoping the cigar will be too so don't want to ruin either
