So I kept hearing people on here reference this tequila as top quality, so I ponied up the dough and bought a bottle. Holy shit. Great tequila. Thanks for advice. Best I've had, but my view is rather limited to Patron, Dos Lunas, Altos, and some more budget crap.

So far Don Julio is my favorite. It was a game changer and made me realize good tequila could be just as impressive as bourbon.

whatever you do, don't try this stuff: http://www.tequilasource.com/cuervoreserva/
it's not cheap, but for the money it can't be beat, you'll be spoiled for most anything else. this is also the most money i'll personally spend on tequila, anything more is an investment, not a bottle to drink imho. i olny wish i could drink it on a regular basis. still, i try to keep some in the stash at all times. you've been warned.

btw, Don Julio is very good stuff, also in my regular rotation.

I'm doing this tonight.
Lol....I'm seriously addicted to this drink. It's so easy to make and the flavor is perfect for summer. Use good clean ice and squeeze the lime ( about 1/3 and then put it into the glass after ) and while I haven't crushed the ice like it's a Margarita I supposed it would be just as good. While this can done subbing vodka it isn't nearly as good. Using quality tequila ( silver and not colored anejo ) this drink could literally make you an alcoholic it's that good!

Here's what I've been working on. Like this one quite a lot as a sipper

And just finished this guy... Really offered some wonderful smoky notes, makes for some fine home made margaritas following the Alton Brown recipe. http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/alton-brown/margarita-recipe.html

I know most like Silvers in margaritas but its a nice change of pace for me to add some oakiness to them every now and then (y)
