Had the big eye ipa n paired it with a perdome 10th anni sun grown the other night...thought they paired pretty well
I went down to Ballast Point's main brewery in Miramar, San Diego this past Saturday for a friend's birthday (on a party bus with a keg of Pacifico I might add). I know IPAs are generally thought of as not great for pairing with a cigar, but for some reason when I tried their Grapefruit Sculpin, which is amazing BTW, my mind immediately went to the Illusione Rothchildes--for whatever reason I felt the citrus notes of the Ballast Point would go well with the signature Illusione floral flavor profile. So far, so good. Much better pairing than the Firestone Union Jack, which pretty much ruined the first two Rothchildes I tried--though I really like both the beer and the cigar apart from each other.

6yr Barrel aged Camacho corojo..not much of a Camacho fan but this one is excellent so far.
