...however right now it is cheap cigars or nothing! Well, not completely true, I usually go for pipes when its not windy out. However some times a cigar is just what the day calls for. Two nights ago I had a NUB sized cigar from a sampler from Thompson. It was crap! Really made me sad. Talking with the wife last night, I came to the convolution I should have ordered a box of Pardon 7000 maduros and some other brand I really liked a year or two ago before we had a kid. However she also reminded me that I usually smoke when its windy while walking the dog, so thats not really the place for high priced sticks.
So far I have tired, and enjoyed, the CI Orginal Cubans and Black Ops Maurdo. Are there any other cigars I should look at or is my best bet just looking for samplers that have cigars I like in them while watching the budget?

Thanks

Sean

Depends on your per stick budget.. I've found good brands for the same price as the per stick in those samplers.

I've been on a buying freeze because of 1) not in the budget 2) have enough of a stash for a couple years but finding deals is easy

My cheap go to are

El major expresso
Fighting cock( I know bad name)
Black pearl
Esta 1844
5 vegas A

All are very cheap on Cbid
Do you drink Fighting Cock Bourbon while smoking Fighting Cock, or is that just too violent? :nailbiting:

I am already googling those. Only one I have had off that list is a 5 Vegas, I think. Not sure if it was the A, but it wasn't impressive for 5 dollars a stick. Could have been a bum stick too.

My cigars in the $2-$5 range are: Alec Bradley Maxx, Nica Libre, Bahia Maduro (Red), CAO America, Nica Rustica, Nub Maduro (wasn't sure which Nub you had above and didn't like), Perdomo Lot 23 Maduro, Tatuaje Havana VI and many, many others!
If you're buying boxes, you can get much much better sticks for 4-5 bucks.

Ramon Bueso Genesis
Joya Red
can be had at the $2-3/ea price point on cbid and both are great smokes, especially after a year or so on the Genesis.

Dunno if they've been pulled like many others recently but I've landed MUWAT Bait Fish on CA for barely over $2/ea

La Herencia Cubana CORE can be decent but its hit or miss.

Used to like the original J.Fuego Origen (the lil corona sized in the packs) as well as Corojo Oscuro but its been a long while.

Famous Nicaraguan Selection 3000s is a solid bundle smoke

Other than the Red and the Genesis i've grown into an elitist bastard. But I used to only smoke cheapos.

Gran Havano Vintage 2002 is a solid stick. CI has sales on them frequently for $39 for 20. A few months aging does wonders for these.
As for CC's, HUHC's can be had for under $5 a stick when bought by the cab

Off the top of my head...

Diesel Unholy Cocktail
Nat Sherman Metro maduro
Black Crown
Cain - Daytona and maduro
Torano Exodus "50 Years"
E.P. Carillo - core line, Cardinal, and Short Run

These are all solid smokes that can regularly be had for $3 or less on cbid. There are a lot more, too - these are just some of my favorites.
