I just bought an accumonitor, why are you replacing the wicks? Getting old or not happy with them?
I believe you can go back to avallo to buy replacements, but if you want an alternate I would imagine you could just buy heartfelt beads for the canisters. Not speaking from experience but I imagine it would work just as well.

Thanks for the response. Wicks need replaced often to prevent mold. Don't know how you did it, but I can't order from their site... Never thought of beads in the canister but I'm skeptical... Where did you buy your acumonitor?

Just tried again with no luck... I've called but will try the email.

I refill 4 canisters every 2 months. I need an active system to keep up. Beads won't work in my case...

Nope. Beads are a passive form of humidification. They absorb or emit humidity to reach a pre set humidity level. In my case beads would constantly be emitting humidity. I would have to charge beads way too often to keep up. The avallo system is an active form of humidification. It provides humidity once the humidity level drops beyond a certain point. Even if my cabinet was perfectly sealed, I would need at least 10lbs of beads per heartfelt calculator to have enough. Filling the canisters with beads wouldn't come close to 10lbs... Here's a picture of my humidor so you get a better idea of what I'm talking about:

Just see a picture of yours. I suspect the same scenario with yours. You will need an active form of humidification unless you live in a humid climate (inside your home). Beads work great in wine coolers or regular coolers, and smaller wooden humidors with great seals. Large cabinets like ours won't have perfect seals and will loose humidification quicker than what a passive system can provide.

Ya I have the same Accumonitor as you do, but just recently set it up so I'm not sure how much water I am going to go through. I would assume it will be comparable to what you are using, looks like our cabinets are about the same size.....however mine doesn't seem to have the stock yours does yet haha.
What do they charge for replacement wicks?, If I was thinking I would have ordered some replacements at the same time I ordered the system.
I am in Canada so I can just imagine what the winter is going to be like. It gets so dry in the winter I will be refilling bi weekly.
