I just had to go buys some cigars to get my mind off of this thread. 
A few months ago I did go through my account histories for 2014 orders with the auction sites, was about $1700 on cbid, $700 on CA. Then online retailers I was around $500. So, about $3k last year not counting box split buys, beer trades, and pipes n baccy. Likely close to $5k overall
This year I'm probably on track for a lil less than that, but still more than I expected. Didn't think I was buying that much this year but the lesser frequency intersected with larger orders. Already over $2k.
Really think I'm done for a while though. Have enough cigars to last me several years even if I were to smoke daily. Dont have an actual count, but likely in excess of 1200. Many boxes haven't even had their external cello wrap broken. Lots of stuff I want to try, thats still in the box or unbroken from a 5pack.
Kinda depressing to have proof of my fiscal irresponsibility... thanks?

I don't want to know, but I know it's way too much and now I'm into smoking pipes, greeeeeaaaaat. That's even more money now.
My wife just asked me to ballpark this the other night....I gave some roundabout numbers. Having around 250 cigars right now at an average of $8-9 per stick came to around $2,000. She was OK with that...didn't mention all the money I have smoked though lol.

Though, for me that hobby has been on back burner for a few years now, the cigars may be getting close. At least that tends to be more durable goods, though track days get pricey.
Homebrewing on the other hand is another consumable hobby. When I'm brewing I'll go through $200/mo in grain/hops/water/chems. Took a hiatus recently, but trying to get back into it.
Yes if you consider a track day not only consists of the track fee but tires, brakes, fluid flushes, wear and tear, etc. Problem is I LOVE the track. Just cannot go often cause I am OCD about my car always being in top shape.
Great point. When I was golfing I went through way more in that. Hell I've invested more not halloween parties over the years.
It comes down to this. If you can afford it and you love it. Go for it. Just avoid putting your hobbies on credit.

Since I'm still on a college budget...more than I should. But overall I'd say not a lot. I'd ballpark at 500 over a year. I pretty much only smoke budget cigars a few times a week and save big purchases for celebrations. Don't even want to think about how much I'll spend when I have my first career job though
