I have the day off with plans to get my weekly yardwork done, only to a steady rain.

Plan B, go through my cigars and recharge the HF beads, swap out the Bovedas and recharge the old ones, organize, consolidate and do a mental inventory.

This is always an eye opener for me. I don't keep any kind of ongoing organized inventory, I am a guesstimator.

What did I learn?
1. I don't have as many cigars as I thought. My guess was 400 cigars with actual count of 338. Nothing major and I don't feel abused nor neglected.

2. I thought I had around 50 cubans and actual count was 34. This needs attention.

3. About 50% of my cigars are what I absolutely love which includes HE,LE, CC's and some of the boutique stuff. I guess I am kind of a snob since I seem to chase some of this stuff and seem to enjoy them more than most commonly found cigars. I actually thought the percent was higher.

4. I have more Anejos than I thought. I need to smoke these more often and try to snag more 888's when and if they show up again. They are my favorite Anejo, even over 46's and 77's.

5. I thought I was out of storage space, but have room for 4 more boxes in the coolerdor. Before consolidating some stuff my cooler was FULL. Emptied 5 boxes and now have room. Actually it is probably where I should keep it, about 85% full. Oh yeah, I need to get more Habanos.

6. I don't have any damaged, moldy or bug problems and all appear to be in great shape. If I ever find cigars that show any wrapper damage they are the next ones to get smoked, but haven't really had any issues lately.

Well, that's about it. I probably learned other stuff but am too slow to recognize it. I try to do this twice a year, with recharging done about 4 times a year.

Life is pretty good even if it is raining!

I do it periodically too. It's fun to find what you forgot about.

I used to do it now there are just too many boxes and cabs to go through....most are even vac sealed so that would be a bigger pia. Every now and again I will find something interesting in the singles jars I have that I forgot about but all of my cigars are stacked up high and neatly by individual marca which makes choosing smokes pretty easy :)

Did this a few months ago because I ran out of room, wanted to empty any low stock boxes from the box humidor into singles, and try to get away from using all my overflow humidors.

Lasted about two months. Back to using a large tupperware box, and three ammo cans in addition to my two large humidors and desktop.

It never ends,
