Matthew Stonie defeated Joey Chesnut today in Nathans Hot Dog eating contest. It is held July 4th at Coney Island, NY. Chesnut was aiming for his 9th consecutive title, but was unable to keep up with Stonie's pace. Final tally, Stonie 62 hot dogs in 10 minutes to Chesnut's 60.

I've read that most of them "train" with healthier items than the contest food. Think veggies, fruit, water to get your stomach to be stretchy.

One of my patients today was watching this.
It was an awful trainwreck I couldn't look away from.

I'm all about eating contests/challenges but this is a bit much.

Their poor liver/gallbladder/pancreas/heart/stomach not to mention colon....

It's a remarkable feat, but there's no way it's done without some damage to the body. Seriously. The tax of a regular large meal is damaging. Multiply that by 20 and substitue the most unhealthy processed meat and bread. Thinking about just the cardiac output requirements to digest that amount of food, we're talking marathon-runner level shit. ...for eating.

my heros.
