Have been getting worried this summer with the high temperatures here in Dallas, my humidor has been sitting steady at 77-78. WAY too high for my liking with all the beetle scares out there.

I originally had my humidor a sitting on a dresser in our bedroom, however it was right by a window. I'm going to leave them there for a couple of days and see what happens. Wish me luck!!

If you have the option try to keep them as low as possible in the room. Hot air rises, sometime >8* higher up near the ceiling
Well, that's a good point. I may try and find another place for them. Right now, I think even with them being up there, we are on the first floor apartment and our temp is pretty comfy at 71. Hopefully that will drop them down a few degrees. If not, will have to figure something else out. Have such a small place, there isn't a lot of room anywhere.

Do you have closets? The racks in mine are very high so I put them on the floor in there. 3rd floor and have a hard time keeping it at 74* in here. But the wineador fixes all those issues

I do, but we are extremely limited on space and funds (thus, no wineador for me at this moment). All our closets are tiny and stuffed to the brim! We are moving into a 3 bedroom here in Sept and I'm going to try and talk the wife into allowing me to save for one.

Keep an eye on craiglist and ebay too. A friend of mine actually got one via one of the two. You might be able to find something as well. I keep mine on my dresser and it fluctuates between 65-75. Usually, on a run of good days I'm at a solid 70%.

But like @Iholmes mentioned...heat rises. Keep it low if possible.
