neat idea for using and old slider box for media. I have a Crowned Heads Six Shooter box that I'm not really doing anything with that I could use in my coolador.

For the screen, did you just cut to size and slide it in? Any concern with the wood being in constant contact with beads and sprayed occasionally?

Looking good. I'm going to steal an idea or two - thanks for sharing.

Yes, you just cut the screen to size and slide it in the existing groove in the cigar box. You can use the existing cigar lid as a cutting guide. As long as the cigar box is Spanish cedar and not some other wood and it is only sprayed occasionally, I think you should be fine. Other brothers will need to chime in here as I have not been using this method long term but I know that several other members use this method. My main source for humidification is the four large 65% Boveda packs. ( I may add a fifth one just for fun.) The KL is simply to charge my Boveda packs and to help the RH rebound when I open up my Tupperdor frequently. I also thought the cigar coffins simply looked cool.

Good luck with your project!

I also "upgraded" my Traveldor this weekend for football tailgating season. Added a metal Boveda holder and mounted my HygroSet in the lid of the Traveldor.
It worked great. Of course, I am always worried about high temps with outdoor temps. in the low 90's early in the season, but the cigars still smoked great !!

Thanks for a great thread, awesome pics and ideas. Some of which I will steal shamelessly as I have a couple of Tupperdors that are "mix & match" singles but having this set up would allow me to get at those sticks more easily.

I am glad you found some ideas you could use! I have been very pleased with the Tupperdor set-up with cigar trays. It works great!
Thanks again to everyone for their helpful hints, input, and guidance!
