I like to browse the selection over at Smoking Pipes, probably more than I should, dreaming of the day I can call one of those beauties mine. I notice that the Ropp pipes tend to sell quite fast, at least I'm assuming that's what it means when the front page says, oh like 15 fresh Ropps and then the Ropp page only lists 5 new ones. I don't really see much press here about the brand, at least not that I found in my brief searching. Is there something special about these pipes that I'm not picking up on, or just nicely priced options?

Are we talking about the cherry wood pipes or the briars that are sold new? Either way I have never smoked one. Just curious about the original context of the post.
I almost bought an old cherry wood estate at an antique store once, but the shank was loose in the bowl so I passed on it.

That's kind of what I figured. Some are pretty good looking in the pics though. Seems like for a relatively small bump up in price a guy could get into some other quality options.

I just pulled the trigger on a Ropp Warden, after a mate made a compelling case that his was a better smoker than his Peterson warden for twice the price... I know these things are situational and might have fluked a good one or maybe his Peterson was a dud... But at the end of the day I don't need much pushing...
