I was wondering today, why aren't there more Cuban Maduro cigars? I know Cohiba has a few, but why no other marcas? Do they take longer to make? Is it something with the Cuban leaf?

Maybe fermentation and aging time? Also, I believe you need a hefty leaf to withstand the maduro fermentation process; maybe Cuba doesn't many strong candidates for that.

I don't recall bring blown away by the Cohiba maduros, though.

Many of the early ELs had what could almost be considered a "maduro" wrapper. Fresh, I thought their flavor was dominated by the wrapper, and I wasn't a fan. Still not a big fan of the Cohibas, and not expecting much from the Partagas.

Because maduro is a marketing scheme thought up by nc companies to promote their product as better than cc. And the Cubans quality control won't let them chemically darken and over ferment the leaf. :finger:

Partagas just made one
Well I was interested but $16 per?? No thank you!! I honestly don't know why I'm surprised I always hate the pricing of LEs/REs. Rarely worth the coin for me.
