I'm somewhat of a planner. I set a budget, I calculated the storage needed.
Contrary to the advice given here: "go bigger than you think you need" I purchased a Newair 121 and ordered drawers. It was perfect. It had everything I needed. At the time.

Oddly enough my calculations were off. It's full.

And a Newair 281e is on it's way.

I'm not sure if I'm saying "thank you", "you were right", or "go to hell".

HAHAHA

Listen to you guys. I like you started with a smaller wineador after I joined here. After a couple months of "welcoming" and then meeting @Smoqman, I knew I better prepare for the long haul. This is what happened...

Take my advice... just go big right now. You will thank yourself later when you don't have 10x24 bottle wineadors haha

You will need a bigger boat. First it's a desktop. Then it's a cooler, then a wine fridge, then 2, then a cabinet, and finally a walkin (as some like to call a "reachador"-whatever).

Keep your hands inside the ride at all times and stop resisting.

I started back in 2007 or 2008 with a 20ct cheapo humidor.
Eventually gave that away and upgraded to a a 50ct cheapo so I'd have extra room.
Then I got a second 50ct so I'd have some extra room.
Then I moved to two 100ct humidors, so I'd have some extra room.
Then I got rid of my humidors and got a 16bt wineador, because that would provide a little extra room
Then I sold the 16bt wineador and bought a 28ct wineador, because I wanted a little extra room.
Then I bought a 28qt cooler, so I'd have some free room for overflow.
Then I dropped that in favor of a second wineador, so I'd have extra room for both NC and CC, each about half full.
Then when those started to get a little fuller I was gifted a 32qt wineador, which was good because now I have an NC coolidor with plenty extra room, and plenty of space between my two 28-bottles for future CCs.

So now I have three wineadors, which I will eventually fill, and I presume the expansion will continue until I drop dead and my then-grown children have to figure out what to do with all my cigars.

Seems like kind of a big burden to leave to my kids. I think the only reasonable solution is to smoke more often to help them out...

The moral of the story is, go bigger than you think. Then double that, and you'll have a starting point.

Very impressive work brother! I'm going to read through that build and will probably have a list of questions. Did I read correctly that you removed the compressor/cooling capabilities of the wine cooler?

Lol! I laughed the entire way through reading this.

I'll talk to the wife about walk-in wine/humi plans tonight.

Started with a cheap Chinese 20 count desktop... after about 10 years upgraded to a decent 75 count desktop...

Spent 3 or 4 years with the 75 count always about 1/3 - 1/2 full..

Found BOTL by accident about 5 years ag0...

Within a couple of months was in a wineador...
Within a year after that was in a 6' x 2' x 1' cabinet...
about 18 months after that moved to a 7' x 5' x 2' cabinet
Now.. about a year later.. seriously considering an Avallo or an Aristocrat...

There is no bottom to the hole... once you go over the side.. you just keep falling..

The problem is, half of that thing is empty now… And you're gallivanting all around the world hasn't helped to replenish it.

Something must be done

Ryan loves Behike, and I have his address.
