Is it me or I crazy. Everything I try from Caldwell the draw is way too tight, it's really irritating. The flavor profile is very good but your supposed to relax with a cigar not fight the damn thing. Thought?

I got a 5er of the LLTK and every one had a tight draw and had to be re-lit multiple times. I never actually got through an entire cigar. Its a shame too since they were quite tasty, but I dont think Ill be getting anymore from Caldwell.

To be fair I've only tried both the king blends and ordered a single of each of the new JV from Atlantic that I am working my way through. Saw a decent prized sampler the other day that intrigued me but I'll be damned I'm gonna spend more on a brand that teases me with a promising flavor profile that's arteries are clogged up.

In my limited experience with Caldwell, it seems the smaller the RG, the tighter the draw. I've had much better luck with the "robusto-ish" sizes than the coronas and smaller.

Lol thanks! Interesting reading. I did do a search for "Caldwell tight draw" as I didn't want to duplicate an old thread. Oh well, doesn't appear a lot has changed since that initial thread of January of this year.
It's a bummer about their issues. I have some Marbleheads, and those things burn great... everything else, not so much.

Caldwell can't last on marketing alone. Won't be long now. With either be a major change or the company goes under.

I've had two caldwell cigars so far, a long live the king in lancero, and an easter standard in lonsdale I think it was, maybe churchill. Both had no burn or draw issues for me. I did have to keep a steady puff on them though. They both *almost* went out a couple times. I think they're using tobacco that doesn't burn that great. Maybe I just got lucky.

I saw this thread and pulled out an Eastern Standard. Good flavor, but man I was fighting that thing the whole way. Cracks in the wrapper, weird tunneling up the side. No issues with other smokes right next to it. Nubbed it though, even if it wasn’t a pretty sight at the end.
