Good thread brother @Wasz! (y)

My wife and I got married on Veterans Day. Today's our 20th anniversary, which wouldn't have been possible without my grandfather, Infantryman George J. Brown, who was part of the D-Day Normandy invasion. Without our armed forces, the world as we know it would perish. Soldiers, sailors, coast guardsmen, airmen and pilots are owed a debt of gratitude for allowing the likes of me to sit on my lazy backside, in my comfortable garage, smoking the day away. THANK YOU to those BOTLs who have served or continue to do so! Special shout-out to @Mr.Draned and @THEMISCHMAN and everyone else I'm forgetting. And thanks again, gramps, for kicking Nazi a$$...

Happy veterans day everyone. I was invited to my cousins school today for veterans day. The school puts on a very nice program for us veterans every year and then we go and talk to the individual classes. My cousins is in third grade and it's amazing how much admiration these kids showed for the veterans. Those teachers are really doing a great job. I had a great time swapping stories with some of the old timers. I even had the oppurtunity of meeting a gentleman that was a part of the invasion of Normandy at Omaha Beach.

That's a real awesome way to spend Veterans Day.

As a new officer in the Army I just wanted to wish everyone a happy Veterans Day and thank all of those who came before me and say it is an honor to be able to take all the great things you have done and carry it forward! Thank you all again for serving this great nation we call home!

Wow Jason, that's a great piece of history!
My great uncle Mario flew bombers in WWII. He was a bad mother f'er, both in and out of the service, no doubt about it.
