How many cigars a day is too much?
Lately, I am averaging 2 full cigars a day, sometimes I'd have a Acid Red here and there, when I don't have an hour to smoke a full cigar. Am I getting addicted to these, or am I enjoying them too much?

The little .99 acid singles are slowly becoming a regular in my wheel. Great short smokes.
But they're like the Grateful Dead..... People either love them ......or can't stand them....

If you are saying one of those little punks plus a regular madoro later ... heck, that's what I'm doing..

People say you can get "pallet burn-out" . But after 30 years of cigarettes , my taste buds are half tone-deaf anyways.

Thanks brother BONDO, I enjoy Acid Krush Red during day time, at night, I would have a Full flavor cigar at times I'd compliment that with Bourbon or Scotch.

2 is not very much at all...
14 cigars a week isn't much? Lol I have to disagree with you there. I know there are some ppl that blow that number out of the water coughbostoneocough but it still seems like alot at least to me.

Not that I'm judging or anything, I would smoke that much easily if I weren't concerned for the health repercussions but I try really hard to hold back to an avg. Of one a day tops.

I read somewhere that George Burns smoked 10-12 cigars a day for 70 years, Arnold Schwarzenegger has his own 'CIGAR HOLDER (caddie)' person on payroll on his movie sets and smoked 10+ a day, any truth to all these? I know, I don't have time to do more than 2 a day.

Are you addicted? Easy test: take a week off.

I've done this a few times just to make sure my head was clear and I was in control of myself. If it's a struggle, you may want to think about putting some personal restrictions in place.

For me personally, the restrictions were a health-based choice. Sure the studies are old and not great, but seemed to me from what I read that the risks were largely mitigated by smoking less than one per day, so I set myself a hard limit of 3 per week and have pretty much stuck to that.

Whether you choose to do more is up to you, but make the choice intentionally. Control the vice, don't let the vice control you.

My opinion: 10 cigars is plenty in one week. Typically I smoke 2 cigars a day, 5 days a week. It's important to me to take a couple days away from the leaf and let my palate recover. Some days I smoke three or four in one day, but it's rare that the next day I even smoke, or at least smoke more than one. Again, averaging 10 cigars/week is a good rule of thumb for myself. Do what feels right for your body.

I like what @StogieNinja said:

Smoke it up if you enjoy it, but listen to your body and keep a clear head. Enjoy!

Yeah listen to your body. If i Could I still would not smoke and drink all day everyday. I think examples of Too much are when you become unproductive, when you stop doing other things you love just to smoke, when you can't breathe or your lymph system starts clogging and acting up but you just keep smoking. Addiction starts to take over other parts of life despite repercussions and when that pattern exist that's too much

I have weeks where I'll smoke 2-3 a day - but then I'll also have weeks where I smoke 2 or 3 cigars the entire week. Sometimes I'll take a few weeks off. For me it probably works out to about cigar a day over the course of a month.

There's no science as to how many cigars is too many. If your concern is health related you chose the wrong lifestyle.
I had a blood work done, results were 'second hand smoker' my pain management doctor was OK with results, except for my cardiologist.

Don't you think you also need to take into account how your smoking affects family members?
This, frankly, is the priority consideration for me and my smoking habits. I will only smoke when it does not negatively affect my marriage and family life. I do not want my kids to miss time with their daddy, or my wife to feel lonely because I want a cigar.

I also don't want my kids to see me smoking constantly. Like with alcohol, I want them to see responsible use of such things modeled for them, so that they know to enjoy all things in moderation and to take responsibility for their own actions and never blame the substance.
