Care to share your experiences with the dickman?

I looked at the other thread and the link is broken. Just how does one go about this cut. Is it similar to punching the top and bottom of a Chisel?

I have avoided it because from my experience if I do not cut the end perfectly perpendicular it affects the angle of the ash (it tends to match the angle of the cut) which messes too much with my mild OCD

So because of this thread I have it a try tonight. Have to say of all the cuts I've tried it's my least favorite. Got kind of a funny burn for most of the stick and I've never had that on these out of my humi before.
