Anyone into rc racing? I use to race a 1/10 scale truck but got out a few years ago. But a bunch of guys at work have started a back yard type racing track. About 6 to 10 guys racing what they bring. I'm thinking of buying a cheap kit and get back into it alittle.... I have a old Ve8 1/8 buggy that needs a new battery but that's it.

I used to run nitro trucks back in the early 2000s. Still have my old Ofna in a box in the basement. I have been getting into multirotors a bit recently, but nothing serious. At this point I'm with you on getting a kit. RTRs are nice, but half of the fun is building stuff. Keep us posted if you take the plunge!

I used to rave on road oval and road course about a million years ago. I still have some of it that is all but useless now. Would be fun to do again, but I don't think I'll ever have that sort of disposable income again lol

Yes, I loved building kits. However what I found was that a kit would arrive, and then a carbon fiber chassis would arrive, and then I would want to go all carbon fiber. Or I would go all anodized aluminum. Or a combination of both. Next thing you know I have a $1K rig that becomes a shelf queen.

Funny. I was just looking at RC kits again. I started back in the day when the Tamaya Frog was the car to have. Ended when I got a nitro RC10. Then a decade later I found it at my parents house, dumped a bunch of money into it to upgrade it only to sell it a few months later.

I always wanted the 4x4 truck that had a shiftable transmission in it. Can't remember what it wa scalped but it was based on a Toyota pickup. Oh the days.

this is great! I started with an Ofna LX One (piece of shyt waste of $$$) and blew the motor. Then listened to my cousin's who I should've listened to all along and got an HPI Firestorm 1/10 "truggy" I think they're called these days. But haven't played with it in a few years now. It's on my workbench collecting dust. I never really raced it just played around the yard with it and smacked some trees head on no prob. HAHA.

And that's how we all ended up here, haha. If you're gonna do something, make it cost you a lot of money. Because that's smart!:android:

I could have raced real (VW buggy) cars for the money I spent over the years lol. Just over the weekend at a big race I'd use 5-6 sets of tires. Add nitro fuel, body's, parts, pistons and sleeves for mod motors oh my. Starting to miss it less as I type haha
last car I owned at a race in NC.

That feeling won't last. I imagine its something like giving birth. The pain is excruciating, but as soon as it passes you're ready to pop another one out, lol Good lookin machine there. What you got against OFNA?! I love mine
