How to fix this humidor

Hi, I'm new to the forum. I need some help with a new old stock savoy humidor. It is in great condition except where the cedar in the lid is pulling away from the side of the lid. Should this be glued? Any suggestions on how to best repair?

I saw the pic, I just want paying attention.I'm not sure what to say about it, you have any money into it?I'm not sure if you should try to season it first and see if there is any change. I think Wood glue and clamps are in your future

If I were in your shoes I would squirt some wood glue in the gap and clamp it to the side with 2-3 non-marking wood clamps for a couple of days. Be sure to wipe off any excess glue or your lid may not close correctly.

With the inner piece pulling away like that it will more than likely effect your seal so you want to get it reattached to the lid if at all possible.

Rupe, that was my thought also. I was headed to the work bench to glue and clamp and thought I might ask the forum first. I didn't want to do something that was permanent an ruin the humidor.

It's glued and clamped. I'll keep my fingers crossed. Thanks for y'alls help.

water proof glue and a C clamp be easy with the C clamp so you don't crack the wood

Gorilla glue and a wide clamp overnight worked perfectly. Thanks everyone.

I have done that fix to several cheap humidors that didn't seal, though I pull all the overlap wood and full contact glue it in place. Couple quick grip clamps overnight and the guys who have the humidors haven't had issues since.
