Ok, here's my real resolution: finish my smoking room.

I'm usually a pretty disciplined guy, but I keep finding ways to not save the money for the vent fan I need to install before I empty out my smoking room and paint it.

This year is going to be different. No note cigar purchases until I've saved the money to buy and install the fan, and the materials to patch and paint the walls, fix the exterior door, etc.

My wife went to IKEA today just to get out of the house, so I had her get me a frame for my Crowned Heads print that @JonHuber signed for me. I hung it tonight.

This is going to be my inspiration. This beautiful framed print will be my reminder of how nice and classy this room will be when it's done, if I'm disciplined enough to save the money I need.

Here's what the room looks like now:

It's going to get better in 2016!

Same as every year.

Success in all things, by my own gauge (not the Jones'), by my own time (not the society's), and in my own way (not the beaten path).

This usually works out, because the Jones tend to go easy, society continually raises the acceptable age for mediocrity, and the beaten path is never EVER the most fun path.

Like Oprah says, "let 2016 be the best year of our bodies"-ha!
In reality, I dropped down to exercise 3-4 days a week this year, I plan on getting back to 5-6, and I could loose 10-15 lbs, which I can never do, I will try harder, it's diet not exercise.
In the cigar world, I will reduce inventory but I do need a few boxes of Oliva O torpedo, that is currently my favorite. I would like to just have what I love to smoke but that seems impossible like the 15 lbs issue. I will also get rid the stuff I smoke and don't like, no reason to save it.

Try to resolve this impasse with the wife regarding my smoking habit. She seems to think 3-4 cigars a week is way too many. She also thinks it takes time away from my family.... but I only smoke late at night when everyone is asleep or during nap time (2 kids). But I digress... I'll just have to agree to disagree, suck it up, and somehow smoke less. My other resolution will be to smoke more of the HTF's that I seem to acquire and save for special occasions but never actually smoke. If I'm smoking less, perhaps it will be easier to justify smoking the special ones more often.

Not trying to minimize the health hazards to your wife; they are definitely tangible. But perhaps if you explain to her that there's this idiot you know on BOTL (last name: "Geek," first name: "Zippo") who smokes 3-4 sticks a DAY...she'll come to appreciate your remarkable moderation and self-control! :)

Good call! 3-4 a week is 7X better than 3-4 a day! She should be 7X less pissed.

As a man of discipline I'm straight up not buying sti ms until my 30th bday in April. Much harder is my goal to lose 40-50 pounds this year and keep it off. I doubt I can pull it off but I'm gonna try my damndest.
You can definitely do it dude! Over the past 2 years I cut 30 lbs, bulked up 20, then cut another 30 lb. Just gotta get that diet on point and hit the weights consistently.

My goal is adding as much solid lean mass as I can. And to also roll more cigars this year.

If I can keep my cigars from spilling into a second 110 qt coolidor over the next year, I'll call it a success.
Outside of cigars, I'd like to drop 20 lbs or so in the next 6 months.

Some of the above crack me up...

Have a decent crack at dieting, not so much for weight (although its a nice bonus) but for energy and feeling better.

Cut back to 2 pipes a day and 1 cigar per weekend... If I can pull this off my cellar should do great things this year!

Oh and stop buying pipes... #3inthemail
