Now I bought a box of dukes 5.5 x 54 a couple months ago and really have enjoyed them a lot, but I've never had a los Calaveras so I don't know if they are the same as there suppose to be, any thoughts on the differences between the two blends,

I never had the Las Calaveras that the La Imperiosa is based on. I've read various comments about differences that people perceived, but I have can't quote any of them.

any thoughts on the differences between the two blends,
Generally, my thought is don't worry about comparing them. The LC14 was a limited run and are long gone, so it really doesn't matter how the La Imperiosa stacks up. On it's own merits, the La Imperiosa is a really fine cigar.

I've had a number of both, and honestly couldn't give you a defined set of differences. In my experience, the minor differences between the individual LC14's I smoked were roughly about the same as the differences in my mind between the LC14 and the La Imperiosa.

I completely agree with this. There's no point in comparing them. In addition to LC14 being gone, they are all also older than the La Imperiosa. A year can really change a cigar. Enjoy it for wha it is - a damn fine cigar in its own right.

Also, IMO the 2015 LC has been (but will not forever be) underrepresented in the "best of" 2015 lists. It's phenomenal in its own right (I actually have fewer of them than I have of the 2014 because I SMOKED them all!).

Señor Perfecto - Obviously, I am somewhat biased but I agree with you on the LC 15 and the "Best of 2015" lists...just saying.

As far as La Imperiosa/sizes are concerned....soon there will be a NEW vitola--"Minutos"--a 4 3/8 x 42 PC crafted specifically for the 'cold/winter' months when one may tend to reach for a 'quick' smoke:

Minutos will be a limited 'seasonal' release--NOT a line extension at this time....FYI.

Cheers.

(y)(y) Two thumbs up for the PC release of the LI @JonHuber. I was hoping to escape the short winter smokes when I moved down here to Nashville from Cincinnati but this freakish winter had me smoking in a t-shirt in Cincy at Christmas and freezing my butt off this week on my deck here in Nashville. Here's hoping for more CH lines in a smaller vitola for just these purposes.

Maybe a tin a la Papa Fritas style is in order too.

Are they good to smoke in the back of a 1961 Ferrari GT California after you eat some pancreas and snog with Mia Sara?

Anyone? Anyone?
