I don't have any of those hi tech thingys, so my recommendation is save your money and buy cigars instead. (Does my advise help? I have become a BAD influence in the past year)

I recommend a BlackBerry. The Pearl is really nice if you want the regular phone size, and the 8700 is awesome (but its gonna be replaced by the 8800, which may have wifi) if you want the larger screen and full keyboard.

The Motorola Q, Samsung BlackJack, T-Mobile Dash, Cingular 8525, and the various other "BlackBerry Clones" tend not to be bad, and every carrier has one.

The Treo is good, but it tends to be on the pricier end, and isn't nearly as shiney as the BlackBerries.

I have a BlackBerry Pearl, and I really love it. The screen is amazing, the scroll ball far outshines the various click wheels, and it can play MP3s and video. If you grab it with a plan you can get it on the totally cheap, as well.

Go Samsung Blackjack for $10 a piece with Cingular and grab the IPhone when it comes out if funds are right at the time!

Hey, I'm just figuring with new job finding you go the cheapest route you can go for now, and $10 for the Blackjack seems a pretty darn good deal.

And yeah, all about the IPhone.

I've had a Treo 600 for the past couple years and have used the hell out of it. It doesn't do everything that the latest and greatest do but it has been very reliable. I'm starting to wear the paint on the keys though.

I've got the Treo 650 and it does almost everything I need.
Combined with push email and my unlimited data plan, I rarely have to fire up the laptop.
The TomTom, Mp3, Video, and Tivo functions are an added bonus too.

Just a thought.....I have a Palm Treo 600 (I think the latest and greatest is the 700) I used for less than a year. I have all the memory cards, chargers, etc.
I will give it to you or Rachel if you are interested?????
That is an awesome offer Mike...and I really appreciate it.

We ended up not going with a BlackBerry like phone...mainly because we were shocked by how much it would cost us to keep using our BlackBerry's like we have for the last three plus years. Damn that was a great job benefit! :crytears:

We went with Cingular though so we can be ready for the iPhones if they drop in price!
