The correct method for dealing with this kind of event...

"That's ok babe, we can get it fixed... Lesson learnt."

Smile and proceed to place a large order of Cigars / Pipes / Pipe Tobacco...

Don't fix the garage until said order arrives... and enjoy them while fixing the garage door.

I like the way you think.

This should be good for at least one booty call, too.

Mine put washer fluid in the antifreeze reservoir. Luckily she caught it with the engine off. I was just able to pull the tube at the bottom that feeds the radiator ad let it drain out. Since we've moved north she seems to find the ditches with some regularity including killing my beloved Grand Prix. I ended up having to buy her a 4wd vehicle just to try and mitigate some of that.

Time to survey the damage.

My wife was trying to escape our garage with such ferocity because my middle boy had indoor soccer practice tonight. She was late, as usual. Once she smashed the door it was stuck shut. I was parked outside so I took the boy and just got back home.

The door was shoved out and into the door frame. I gave it a few door kicks to push it back and it now functions again, but it needs to be replaced. Fortunately the track and everything else looks good, just the door itself is shot. Aside from a scratch on the bumper, the van appears undamaged.

I am not mad. My wife will take years of teasing over this and for now, she will beat herself up more than I can be mad at her.

But I will never understand how this can happen.

At least you got the good insulated garage door. Mine is a cheapy and that would have gone straight through it.
But on the plus side, my garage is so small that even if there was nothing in it neither vehicle fits.
Glad all is well again!

Guess what I'm gonna be doing on Saturday.
Looking for a new wife? Haha, jk. Hopefully there wasn't too much damage to the new minivan. I backed my car in the garage a few years ago, but didn't back it in far enough. Closed the garage, and scratched up my bumper pretty bad. Luckily though, I didn't damage the garage door at all.

On a side note, I always make sexist jokes with the wife, just because it's fun. I was flying back from Vegas with her, not too long ago. I watched a female walk into the cockpit, and immediately text her brother (my brother-in-law) "if I don't make it home, I want you to have all of my stuff". Needless to say, she didn't find it very funny.
