Anyone get this? Thoughts on it? I notice some cigars that seem very worth it but not sure how the overall package ends up

Personally after his whole series on Habanos I think the guy that does that show is a complete schmuck I'd never give my money.
Along with that, packages are a nice way for retailers to pair stock that won't move with stuff that's trending. I haven't seen the one your mentioning but it's pretty common to get a mix of nice sticks and yard gars. I'd rather just buy what I'm after specifically but that's me.

I don't listen to a lot of the podcasts, kind of pick and choose which ones but I recently listened to the ones with @NickRAgua and @ssaka and the care package was mentioned. It's $20/month and they send out the 4 sticks they will smoke on 4 shows that next month. Of course El Gueguense and Sobremesa were included in those particular ones. I don't know the others they smoked on air the other shows but I can't imagine they smoke too many yard gars.

Let them have their own opinions bro! The show is great to listen to even if you don't agree. Their accents alone make me laugh.

As far as the care package I just recently signed up before they close subscriptions.

I don't think it works up north to Canada does it?
I don't think they make much profit on those packages, in fact I think most of the time they lose some: 4 cigars for 20$?

I know they are opiniated and have colorful accents. They happen to be one rare cigar oriented podcast. So I listend to it - not always but often. Would be nice to have the matching cigars beforehand!

One of the top podcast out there. IMO of course.

I don't even understand what your getting at... he started the thread asking for thoughts right? I gave my 2 cents on the source and how samplers tend to be put together. Hell I think a Gueguense, Sobremesa, and 2 other sticks is a good deal for $20 but the guy is still a tool. No need to get your jimmies rustled about it.

They could be sponsor sticks as opposed to them going out and buying stuff. The $20/month probably pays for their time in taking orders. I don't see anyone ever going out there and putting this stuff together for a loss out of their own pockets.

They said they take a loss but who knows. I'm sure they're getting them at wholesale rather than retail tho

I've gotten it from the start and I'm happy with it. 4 sticks with SFR shipping for $20. is tough to beat. Several months I've e-mailed and ordered a few singles and they add them in the box for me so no extra shipping. They aren't all top shelf sticks, but for under $4 a stick average it gives you a chance to try some different smokes. There's been Diamond Crown JC, Davidoff Escurio, Avo Syncro, El Gueguense, Fratello Bianco, Byron, BG Meyer and Roberto Duran mixed in over the months. Also a La Gloria trunk show that was like 20 years or something old and a 25th Anniv stick that was really a 5 year old Tatuaje that was great. Then there's been stuff like Topper, Sea Knight (made by Alec Bradley), Tortuga, Ortsac and a few of their United brands to offset but only ever 1 per month.

Current month is KILO Robusto, Hammer & Sickle Tradicion Churchill, La Boheme Pittore and one of their United Cigar house sticks.
One of the past months I remember was the Davidoff Escurio, Fratello Bianco, Hammer & Sickle Icon (now called Trademark) and the 25th Anniv stick

Overall it's always been worth more than the $20 and it's a neat way to try some new brands and compare to what they say about it. While I've not jumped on buying any boxes of the "lesser" smokes - some have been pretty decent and who knows, maybe something will just click.
I'd recommend it - you can always drop it if you think it's no good. Just my 2 cents

Boom! That's what I was looking for. Sounds like it's worth jumping in. There's still so much I haven't tried and it seems like they have at least 1 new one every month so it sounded worth it to me. Thanks Tony!

Sure thing. They tend to feature (on the podcast) some lines that are more shop and you don't usually see on cBid or the online sites. Since I don't have a B&M close to me it's my way of exploring what's in the shop - if that makes any sense. They say (and I haven't seen anything posted anywhere to contradict it) that they haven't had anyone drop it and I tend to believe that.

I've been in on care package since they pretty much started it. I dig two things
1) You never know when Garafalo throws in a rare or premium stick. Couple of months ago a well aged La Cubana which was the yellowish cello I've ever seen and was a blast too smoke. Another month Tat's 2 Guys Cigars 25th anniversary stick, 5 years old and not available anywhere. Phenomenal smoke. Sure there are some dogs in there at times, but it's new stuff and I rarely buy outside my "comfort zone" and enjoy looking for a diamond in the rough.
2) I enjoy listening to the podcast at my leisure and smoking same stick they are. They are genuinely funny with their NE accents and they murder the pronunciation of most brands and cigar names. I spend $150 month on Starbucks like an idiot...$20 for a cigar grab bag isn't so bad.
