I'm going on a small road trip for about 10 days in March. First time traveling as a cigar smoker -- any recommendations on a travel humidor? It would be packed with my other belongings and I can't guarantee the bag it's in won't be lightly thrown around or piled on top of with other bags... at least a 10 count, but preferably 15-20?

Just google "travel humidors" and you will find Amazon and many other purveyors of them online. Xicar, cigar caddy and herf-a-dor are just a few of the brand names. Most of them come in 5, 15 and 40 cigar sizes. They will all protect your cigars from the perils you describe for your upcoming trip.

Search for herf-a-dor sampler/combo, or something similar. Many online retailers will sell them with a bonus 5er included. 30 bucks will get you a decent one.

Sorry, I failed to notice that you were looking for something larger than a 5ct. When it comes to myself traveling, I load up sticks in a ziplock I keep opened, inside a tupperware for protection with a Boveda for humidification. From there I will load up my 5ct with the sticks I want to choose from for the day.
I rarely have the need for larger than a 5ct so I haven't invested in a larger case.

Right now its on sale at Famous. This is what i use or i have another one that holds 10. These work great as they are water proof, they float, and very durable.

Thanks. I'll check them out later -- just have a quick break at home right now... my wife is in the hospital with chest pains... all the tests came back OK but they want to keep her overnight for a stress test in the morning. She and her family have a bad history of heart problems, hence the overnight stay...

Small plastic food container (tuppedor) and a boveda or gel tube with a sheet of bubblewrap inside to keep the sticks from moving around. Has worked for me for years and costs almost nothing.
