The worst feeling ever. I found one beetle hole in one stick, terrifying. Inspected and froze all my sticks. Then while they were in the freezer, I had a dream that they were all cracked when I took them out. Woke up at like 4am and had to go down and check on them. No cracks and no other signs of beetles since.

I don't freeze my cigars. It robs them of the oils I want to taste when I smoke them. If I thought they might actually hatch (they won't -- this is why I have a wino), I'd quarantine or toss them.
You are aware that several manufacturers do freeze them prior to shipping them to distributors, right?

To give me peace of mind, I froze ALL of my cigars about 3 months ago. I detect no change in how they look, taste or smoke after being frozen. Now every cigar I get goes into the freezer for 72 hours, slowly reacclimatized and then in to the coolerdor. I have a sizable investment and a beetle hatch would suck much more than having to take simple measures to prevent it.

I freeze my cigars as well. Let's all try to convince Senor Perfecto why him not freezing his cigars will end in his stash's untimely doom.

Yeah yeah I know a lot of manufacturers freeze their sticks. But if it did no damage we'd all have freezadors :)

I do believe it removes oils. They can evaporate in cold (not so much in heat).

If I was using a coolador or regular humidor I would worry. But there is no way a beetle is hatching at 66-70 degrees. I've only ever seen one beetle hole and that was an un-cooled desktop humidor. I think the concern is fine but a tad overblown.
