Hey guys,

I use KL with filter media bags. RH has been awesome for the years I've been running it. Problem is the KL dust that accumulates at the bottom of my cooler. It's ridiculous. I need to empty out my cooler today and wipe up the bottom for the nth time.

I can use little plastic containers on the bottom but that would kill space as I use two very large filter media bags (size L actually :)) It would also reduce the amount of media I actually have in the cooler.

Anyone figure out a way to eliminate this KL dust? Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks!

Either finer mesh bags or deal with it.

I use KL and have not had this issue at all in the humidors. I have it if I leave one out for a few months and it dries up completely.

Any suggestions on a finer mesh besides those filter bags? Not sure why I am having this issue. RH is rock solid so this stuff definitely isn't dried up. I just emptied the cooler and wiped down the bottom with a towel soaked in DW, then dried it all up before putting my sticks/boxes/trays back. I suppose I can deal with that, just don't want the dust settling on my sticks.

Thanks man.

I just use panty hose to put my KL in. There seems to be a little bit of dust at the bottom some times, but nothing that has required me to do any cleaning. I always leave my cigars that have cellophane on them at the bottom out of habit, so it never effects my cigars.

If you take the KL out every once and awhile and shake them out it clears that issue up.
I use panty hose and there has been no issue what so ever, now and then there is dust at the bottom but I dont worry about it as long as it isnt on the cigars themselves.

Do you push the KL down or squish it into places, as I find there is more dust generated from them when they being pressed together, I just make a spot at the bottom and total and all is well from there.,

Nah I don't don any of that. I just stand up my big bags at the corners. One on each side.

if all the readings are good and your cigars are smoking well, what difference does it make if you have some kl dust?

I guess when you open the cooler the vacuum could pull up some dust if it was fine enough. But yeah just dont sit any sticks in it.

I'm getting ready to set my wino up, and I'm assuming panty hose is the way to go over a tray? For more surface area I'm guessing?

I'd use a ziploc container man. guarantee yourself no dust. That's what I have mine set up with.
