Remember a couple years ago when the discontinued Oust battery powered fan was being coveted like a box of Dirty Rats? Remember when Dirty Rats were being coveted??

Well, Xikar can't help you with all those Rats you hoarded. But they are finally coming out with a replacement for those damn fans.

HOPEFULLY they will be smart and market them at like $10. I can tell you, I will buy a couple for my wino at that price. Those of us with winos who live in hot places know that during the summer when they are running a lot, you really do need something to spread that humidity evenly from top to bottom, especially when your wino is (ahem) very very full and you should probably get a second one.

If you get hold of one of these fans I would love to know what you think.

used a laptop cooler after I gave up on the Ousts. Use nothing now after I gave up on the laptop cooler.
I use nothing now too, but I am not happy about it. There is unquestionably a RH difference between the top and bottom, when the cooler is plugged in. And the cooler's built-in fan blowing directly into the back of the middle drawers causes those sticks to get way too wet. Hoping this fan is worth something.

.....Only had my wineador for a few months, but is a fan really necessary? I have about 100 sticks in it and am looking to build some shelves here in the near future and wondering if I need to account for a fan

Yeah, if you live where it's warm and the wino is running all the time in the summer, you develop condensation right by the peltier plate output. In otherwords, it runs a lot, and the sticks near the fan end up being over humidified and susceptible to mold.
