Humidors and the like are overrated.

So Ive decided to leave humidors and the like behind me. I'm just going to do a full conversion to my house. I mean, it's temp controlled (heat/AC), tons of room, and way easier to just grab a smoke whenever and wherever I want one. I've already started the "seasoning" process by just dumping DW everywhere. I figure, within the next month or two, I'll have an entire house to my disposal after I get everything lined with cedar and air tight.

How has no one thought of this? :D:kiss:

Under no circumstances should you take offense, or any serious stance on this topic. I'm just a noob thinking of stupid things that make me laugh.

Ah yes, the good ole' live-in humidor concept. Many have tried. Few have lived to tell about it.
Pizza, beef jerky and beer will keep me strong bodied throughout this project. I mean, I think I hit all the major food groups and nutrition necessities with pizza alone.

You should never smoke in your humidor. You'll need to have an isolation chamber or take it outside.

Otherwise, that is one sweet idea.

Been doing this for almost 3 years now. My house is a steady 70f/62% year round and my beer closet where I keep my CCs is an even better 62f/58-60%. I still have tupperdors for singles but all my box purchases just rest as is. I have sticks that have been resting this way for a while and still smoke perfectly, no loss of flavor or drying out.

There are B&Ms out there with an open environment that don't use a humidor area. ..it's a space that is controlled with its own system. As far as doing it in your own home would take some work...not impossible at all.

I know it's possible. I'm only joking around with this though. But if you're going to go through the trouble of making your home a giant humidor, you might as well just open your own B&M and make some cash.

When you consider how much we spend on this hobby. ...making a room humidor isn't out of the question.
