After a few days and this thing not really being able to "air out" i just threw some empty cedar boxes/trays in there and closed the door. A few days later it smelled like a humidor

Congratulations on your new wineador! Your temp set up looks pretty much like mine at the moment I finally found a dent in my scratch and dent air'n'water 281. There's a little one on the side of the cover on the back of the unit. I did not find out about John's drawer's and shelves until right after I placed an order with Forrest. So I'm playing the waiting game too. I think I have about 1 lb of kitty litter in mine, and it's stabilized at 66%.

Dont think theirs such a thing as to much kitty litter.
Good point. There's too wet kitty litter, and too dry kitty litter, not enough kitty litter, but never too much!
Forrest did my drawers as well. Awesome work. I had zero issues with him on communication. Fast forward one year and I've outgrown the 281 and two weeks away from picking up a custom built cabinet from Bob @ Aristocrat.

Very nice, and congrats! Been researching the same unit for purchase by Spring; when temps here in South Texas will start to soar (utilities $$$).

I have 10# of KL and 2# of HF beads in my wineador. I picked it up for a great price on Craigslist and an really happy with it. It's a compressor unit, but we keep our house at 72f year round so I don't use the cooling and I freeze every cigar before adding them to the others. My unit is an N'Finity 170 bottle unit. It came with 14 wooden slotted slide out shelves and is about 30"x30"x6' tall. Even my wife likes it.
I hadn't planned on getting one this large, but I just couldn't pass it up when I saw it. The guy I bought it from said he paid $2500 for it new and I got it for a little over 10% of that price. He had just bought another brand new one and didn't need this one any longer.
