Hey @Hopduro received your end body guards and Java included. Nice body guards by the way. And that leaf you put in there is sure aromatic. Should I do something g with that leaf or was it just something you put in there, I am thinking it's a nudge to start me in the home roll direction. Here is a little photo of the Contents give me a couple days and I will dive right in 20160409_140329.jpg

The leaf is a natural boveda ;) And definitely a nudge in the right direction. Hope you enjoy those body guards, my fav. Tat and the bull city stick is "la familia" blend from them, very good and full flavor

So last week I smoked blind cigar #1 from @JZBdano trade. I jotted down a few notes while smoking.

Prelight
Nice looking stick. Looks like a 5.5" "unico" shape. Smells of sweet hay or sweet fermentation. Reminds me of silage from my farming days.

Dry baking chocolate, spicy pepper, musty soil were the main flavors I found. Started decent but the spice was very strong for me.

2/3
Starting to mellow, baking chocolate comes back strong, very earthy. This was my favorite portion of the cigar by far.

3/3
Cigar starts to get really bitter and spicy so I put it down shortly after this picture. Excellent burn and draw all the way through.
Guess: Tat Unico
Correct answer: Padron 6000.
I should have known this. Once I saw the label I had a "duh" moment. I think what tricked me was that this stick did not have a super open draw like all other Padron cigars I've ever had.
Thanks @JZBdano. Looking forward to the next stick!

I put rules in the first post they are quite common sensical :dead:. You guys decide on a number of sticks 3 or 5. The problem with 5 is it takes a little longer but we haven't had any problems so far with people becoming upset with the time it's been takin.just exchange sticks and post so e what of a review or at least notes you pick up on. And results after you open the results, I have found it is easier to send results seperate from other results like in seperate numbered evolopes

Alright, let's dance with a blind stick tonight, #2 @navyvet (just a heads up, I will edit photos in with my phone after posting the review)

Name: #2
Size: 6" x ~50-52
Shape: Toro/Churchill

Cigar enjoyed with the following:
Beverage: Diet Coke
Snack: Peanuts, lightly salted in the shell

Review:
Appearance: Beautiful, dark chocolate color maduro wrapper, light veins, tight seams, triple cap is applied alright, but I am snipping that end off anyway. Smells rich with spices, cocoa, and leather which I am all too excited for. Nice, firm bunch. I opt for a V-cut through the cap, but the draw is quite loose, hopefully this plays out alright and doesn't tunnel too much. The pre-light draw is delicious with plenty of dark cocoa and wood.

The Burn: I decide to treat this cigar right since it's not real windy outside, and light it up with 3 matches, 2 for toasting and the last to fully ignite the foot. The flavor is full of rich leather and earth. The draw is very loose, but allows for a bellowing of smoke output. I am going to have to smoke this real slow. Hints of spice and maybe some licorice rears its head as I pass the first inch, but it’s really settled into an earthy profile. I’d say we are at a medium strength right now. The burn line is straight, the ash is a peppery gray and flaky, but seems to be holding on tight. Only a little crack in the wrapper that took a small chunk of ash out before the first inch fell. I am glad I went with the V-cut, any deeper and this thing would be like sucking through a PVC pipe.

Second third starts and the flavors are still earthy, however, the strength feels quite strong and I am picking up a delicious malt flavor also present in the aroma. Unfortunately, as the first chunk off ash detaches, I notice some severe tunneling and need to immediately correct the burn. I am loving the flavor profile, but the maintenance is preventing this stick from being perfect. The re-light seems to fix the burn and the malt returns, damn I wish I knew what kind of leaf brought that flavor to the blend. Still massive plumes of smoke bellowing after each draw.

I am smoking this quite slowly to ensure the cherry doesn’t heat up. One hour in and I am only nearing the half way mark! At the half, I am starting to get something citrusy on my tongue, pleasant little shift and more spice is coming through making for a more complex smoke. However, now I am missing that tasty malt backbone. The wrapper needs another lighting to keep it going with the filler, rather unfortunate since it is starting to become harsh due to the significant babying with the lighter.

As I approach the last third, the flavors are starting to bitter, but there is some cedar and wood present, the strength is sitting at a medium-full level. The harshness begins to overpower and I let the stick extinguish. The wrapper shows that I still have 2 inches left, but hides where the cherry is actually seated inside.

Overall Impression: Tasty cigar in the first half, highlighted by earthy wood tones and a touch of sweet, caramel and malt. The draw was very loose, allowing for a tunneling issue that continued throughout the cigar’s life and the burn corrections started to increase the bitterness. Not overly complex, but that is perfectly fine with me since the delicious flavors in the first half kept me interested for a solid 2 hours of smoking time. I wish those flavors had continued for hours and hours, but alas burning issues cut it short. Overall, if I could smoke the first half again, I most certainly would!

Guess: Maybe something from Camacho?

Post notes: I kept going back and forth on the familiarity of the stick at first I thought for sure I had had it before, but the more I smoked the less familiar it became...20160411_124343.jpg
Inspection: petit robusto triple cap prominent veins.
Prelight: stright cut light tobacco scent some grassyness. Prelight draw is a little more resistant than I would like. By the looks of things I have not had this cigar before.
Light: jetline tritorch.
20160411_125421.jpg
First third: immediately after light I get mellow white pepper and light tobacco. The white pepper stays in the nose quite some time. This cigar is familiar. There is a slight sweetness floral. After the first 1/2 inch it does lighten up quite a bit. A little creamed coffee coming through this might be the sweetness I mentioned earlier. No more white pepper it is souly creamed coffee. Burn is good draw is better than expected pre-light.

Second third: it is extremely light I generally like a more full cigar, but it's not bad enjoyable flavors and spice isn't bad at all. A little earth shining g through. Definitely a good morning cigar for those who need a lighter cigar to start the day. White pepper makes a reaperance on the tip of my tounge. And inching more toward black coffee and light tobacco I keep changing my mind on the familiarity of the stick, but the lightness of the stick is just too much I don't belive I have had it, it's the lightest stick I have smoked.

Last third: pepper comes back as primary flavor knocking out all others. It does become more of a medium stick in the last third, alot of earth is present for the end of the cigar

Final notes: I can't put a number on it but it's 85-87 everything was acceptable about the cigar burn good draw suprisingly good. But the overall lightness of the stick and lacked complexity is what brought it down. I would smoke it again if given to me but probly would not buy

Revieal: I didn't open the result until the review was complete to prevent any bias, and here goes
I am absolutely stunned at the reveail. I have smoked at least a box of these. Did this stick have alot of age on it hop cause it is dramatically lighter compared to the others I have smoked20160411_141108.jpg

Good ol four kicks! Actually, these are only about a month old, which i would think wouldn't make it milder, excellent review though! I might smoke one for science....

Prenotes: I know @Hopduro does home rolls and the .75 cap gave it away.
Review #2
Inspection: 43-45 rg 5.5 to 6 inches in length. Some veins, spongie feel
Cut: straight cut smells of tobacco
Light: jetline tritorch 20160413_222304.jpg
1st third: very nutty some pepper and wood and tobacco notes. Not alot of smoke output but enough. The flavors change rapidly. Alot of grassy notes a little sweet honey. Room note is carmelized sugar and tobacco.
2nd third: very complex and ever changing. I am pretty sure it has settled into a good sweet hay woodyness.
Last third: it is inching toward a more medium stick, though the first and second third it was pretty full.

Final thoughts, definitely a nice smoke. The changing of flavors made for a very interesting smoke. Required no touch ups the burn went a little wonky in the first third but it corrected it's self. I am dead set on this being g a home roll I will be very surprised if it isn't but now the Revieal
