I thought the same thing. Was it shops that sold out of the Wise Man? Or shops the have the highest order amount from him. Who knows.

Also is it common to release before IPCPR, especially with being a new company..

I don't think it's a common occurrence, but a couple companies have been known to preview a line or a few select vitolas from a line if the product is ready. No sense keeping it in storage if you have enough boxes ready to justify a preview release, with the hopes of raising a bit of awareness in the week leading up to July and IPCPR.

a blend of Jamaican and Nicaraguan fillers but with different wrappers. The Django (5 x 54), Small Ax (4 1/2 x 40), The Skipper (4 1/2 x 38 x 54), Rocky Steady (7 x 48) and SKA (4 x 32) all use a clara wrapper. The Original Rude Boy (6 x 60) and ZOLA (6 x 52) use a maduro wrapper, while the Para El Sapo (4 1/2 x 38 x 54) uses a candela wrapper.

3 different wrappers - essentially 3 different cigars.

True, I forget I was able to attend a preview release for Fatello Bianco line last year, that was released at 8 shops before ipcpr. I just thought Omar had established a bit longer before doing that. Hey Props to Nick if it works for him.

interesting... well, can't wait to try them all. Hopefully we find a list or some hints at what shops get the preview so we can try them before July.

Yeah, I think it has less to do with how established the brand is and more to do with if the product is ready ahead of the intended schedule. This is especially true with regular releases, vs limited releases.
