Damn, that is pretty! Looks too nice to shoot!

I'm looking for a good HD shotty...leaning towards the Remingtom 870 Marine Magnum...anybody have one and what do you like / dislike about it?

VERY nice! $2400 bucks though

I picked up a Browning Gold Hunter last year (about $1200) and love it although just a tad on the heavy side.

I looked everywhere for a Benelli Montefeltro but couldn't find one anywhere. The Baretta AL391 (and 3901 Ambassador) is sweet too.

PS - I know you're looking at the sporting clays and I am talking about semi-autos

Very pretty. Good shotguns are always so expensive (hunting that is).

You can't go wrong with an 870 Ratbert. Though I'm not sure the Marine is the best choice considering the stainless (I think?) finish. If I'm creeping through my home looking for the cause of some unexpected noise I don't know that I want something that shiny in my hands...

Last month I got my wife the 870 express mag home defense with a +2 extension. She likes it, but has yet to fire it.

It is the one on the bottom:

I think that the 870 is the way to go...I looked at the Mossberg Persuaders, but I like the Remy better.

I was leaning towards the Marine Magnum thinking that it would be pretty much indestructible if I tossed it in a canoe or a sea kayak for camping trips. But, in reality, most of it's duty would be at the range and sitting under the bed.

That 870 Express in the black finish looks nice!

I'm in the market for an O/U shotgun. I have a Beretta 390 now and I'm looking for a more classic clays gun. It came down to the XS Sporting or the 525 Sporting. A guy at my gun club has the 525 up for sale so I'm hoping to get that one from him. You can't go wrong with either gun! Great choice!

The 525 is an incredibly sweet shotgun for skeet/clay shooting. I haven't been bird hunting in years so I couldn't tell how it would be in the field after carrying all day. It is substantial in weight but extremely well balanced. The first time I shot it, I was knocking out doubles, and hadn't picked up a shotgun in almost 10 years. You will not go wrong with the XS or the 525, IMO.

I agree. The 525 will be for Skeet and Sporting Clays only. I was surprised when I held the 525 that it felt lighter than my 390 when it is really almost a pound heavier. That must be what good balance does.

I bought the 525 Sporting yesterday. I was trying to wait till the college payments ended in March but the deal was too good to pass up. Happy end of college tuition payments to me!!!! Now the money is all ours again!!! Woopee!
