Gurkha Yakuza - Toro
A person at work gave me this stick. Between his humidor and mine it had about seven weeks of rest. The draw was tight enough to be annoying, but not annoying enough to toss out. The first 1.5" wasn't bad. It had a flavor of mixed nuts, coco, and fruit. At the 1.5" mark an acidic quality formed that was pretty nasty and annoying. By the 2" mark there was no flavor. The only thing I was getting was the acidic taste and really dry smoke. That is when I tossed it.
Man 'O War - Puro Authentico Maduro
This seemed like a frigging $15 stick after the Gurkha. Coffee, earth, cocoa, spice, oak and a hint of dried fruit sweetness with cream. I took my time and stretched the smoke time out a bit to savor this one. It is a very dark smoke in appearance and flavor.
