Alright guys, sorry for the late review for the Roulette stick I picked out!
Now remember, I don't review cigars much except for "I like it, where can I buy some?", "It's good," "Eh," or "yeeeeeahhhhhh no."
My palate is still evolving and I'm int he process of honing in flavors and such, so bear with me.
Here it goes:
Pre-Light:
Unsure of the ring gauge, but I'll ball-park about 54-56rg? I used a punch to start the pre-light draw. The draw was perfect, not too tight and not loose. Wrapper and construction was excellent, no cracks, very uniform, so no complaints there.
Lighting and 1st Third:
Used a Ronson Jetlite torch lighter to light the cigar, very uniform lighting and was ready to smoke with no issues at all! Burn line is somewhat straight, but no need to shave it. Flavors that I picked up (remember, noob here) are more cedar-like. I picked up a little leather, but that was it. It's definitely a mild cigar, not much of spice/pepper, even though I like the spicier cigars lately. After first ash, I noticed it was tunneling a bit, but not too bad as some dog rockets I've had.
2nd Third:
Flavors are the same, one thing I noticed clearer is the cedar. Maybe it sat in a cedar box for a long time? I don't know. The cap is fraying a little bit now, but still intact and holding. Towards the end of the 2nd third, got an earthy taste. Me likey! Ashed the last of the third and no tunneling, so it's good to go into the last third!
Last Third:
So of course the last third is always "hotter" as the cherry recedes towards the head/cap. But the cedar flavor is more pronounced as it draws near. It remains to be a smooth smoke up until the end, and I like it; definitely nub-worthy lol.
Overall Thoughts:
Good Cigar.
Would buy again if price ranges 4-6$ (I'm being reserved, as I am a student on a budget lol)
Definitely would pair nice with coffee in the AM.
Smooth and consistent, good burn and barely had to retouch or relight it.
I give it a
6.5-7/10 rating (based on other cigars I've had, which is not much compared to you guys haha)
So what did I smoke?
