Aristocrat guys: what is your max variation of humidity on different shelves?

So granted, my Aristocrat has been running only for about a week.

That being said I'm curious what the long term deviation of RH within the humidor is going to be.

Right now I get a low of 66% on the top shelf, and a high of 73% on the bottom shelf (only talking about the upper portion of the unit. The bottom portion sits at about 67%).

So the humidity is sinking (as one would expect). I have added a couple battery powered fans temporarily because without them my bottom shelf was at 80%. Now it sits at the 73% I mentioned earlier.

So what have you guys experienced in the long-term with aristocrats, regarding max RH deviation within the unit?

Thanks

Parker

I dont have an aristocrat.. but I have a similar sized cabinet to yours..

Prior to adding additional fans.. I had as much as a 5% deviation between the top and the bottom of my cabinet...

I installed 3x small computer fans that are on continuous run (in addition to the 2 I already had).. and now only have between a 1-2% deviation.. typically the bottom sits at about 66 and the top is either 64 or 65...

I have an Aristocrat cabinet and I am having humidity issues. The 2nd, 3rd and 4th shelf are perfect, 67% humidity and 66 degrees. The problem is the top shelf. It's at 77% humidity and 67 degrees and I can't get the humidity down. I have disconnected both of the humidifiers and have left the doors open for a few hours. Humidity drops but once I close the doors it goes right back up. I'm a little disgusted with it right now. You spend 5K on a THC cabinet you would expect not to have these issues. Anyone else having this problem? Any suggestions?

Does your Aristocrat come with fans to circulate air?

Mine is about 2-3% different from top to bottom. 65% top 67-68% bottom. Temp is within a degree or two as well. I do have around 6 pounds of beads in it as well that were in winos and coolers before I made the swap to the Aristocrat.

It came with 4 small fans to circulate the air, but none are at the top. Last night in a panic I move as many boxes as I could from the top shelf to the lower 3 shelves. I put 3 lbs. of 70% HF Beads that I had from my wineadoir on the top self. This morning the top shelf was down to 70% humidity. I thought getting a Aristocrat I would not have to use beads. They take up to much cigar space.

I know for me when the summer comes around and brings high humidity I need to make some minor tweaks to my cabinet. I drop down to one reservoir and lower the temp by a degree and everything continues along happily. When I notice the humidity start to creep up I make the change. That day is today actually. As for the beads I don't know if I need them or not but I've been running with them since I got the cabinet and I don't mind the small space they take up, added piece of mind I guess.

I called Bob yesterday for some advice. He is sending me 2 more fans to install at the top of the cabinet. If that don't work I may order 2 lbs of the HF 65% beads.

I don't have an Aristocrat, but do use a large 170 bottle wineador. The top stays at 64-65 and the bottom is a steady 67. I use 10# of kitty litter and 2# of 65% HF Beads on the top shelf. I bet adding a couple of fans to the top of your cabinet will help a lot, but adding some beads or silica kitty litter would be insurance for stability.

What size Aristocrat do you own?

I have a M-plus. 25' deep. It has temp control. My RH varies from 1%-3% differential and temp varies by 1-2 degrees from top to bottom shelves. Unlike yourself I haven't had to use any external media. Do you have water in the canisters? If so, you may want to remove the DW. I had to do so and leave the door open overnight to get things to settle. The only issue I have is that the set and forget control unit is off by a few %. So, I use a Meade Hygro system that has three sensors and rely on it solely for temp/rh concerns.
