Let's get a little activity going here about some bourbons. One can never have too much information about what is drinking good right now. For instance I have been drinking bourbon for decades but I had never tried Booker's. I remember when it first came on the market with all the TV commercials with Booker Noe but I remember thinking there was no way anyone was going to buy and drink something at 120 proof. So 25 years or so later I am in the liquor store looking for something new for me and I finally picked up a bottle. Been cheating myself for a long time. This is GOOD bourbon. So let's hear it. What else might I might be missing out there?

I keep going back to my lone bottle Stagg Jr that I picked up a couple months ago. Unbelievable awesome. I know it's a special release sort of thing, but man is it nice. Something like 126 proof but drinks much smoother than that.

Good call. Booker's is delicious.

I can recommend a few: Bakers, Willett, Angel's Envy, Jefferson's Reseve, Blanton's, Four Roses Single Barrel, Eagle Rare, & Larceny should get you started. The last two aren't quite as pricey & make for good every day bourbons.

What batch of Booker's is that? I just picked up a bottle of 2016-02 "Annis' Answer" and it is ridiculously good. I'm actually debating picking up the other bottle I left on the shelf.

@thisoneguy This one is the 2016-01 batch called Bluegrass. Good to hear that the next batch is good as well. I do understand that every batch of this is a bit different with all being good to very good with some being outstanding. I have heard that the 2015-0 batch called Noe Secret is in the outstanding category.

Jefferson's Reserve, Blanton's, Four Roses Single Barrel, Eagle Rare and Larceny I am very familiar with. Just purchased an Angels Envy as a gift for my father-in-law. It's my daughter's favorite bourbon. Been meaning to pick up a bottle of Willet's to make some Old Fashioneds. I will being picking up a bottle of Baker's since I am enjoying the Booker's so much.

That EWSB is good stuff for sure and you can't beat the price. Elijah Craig is awesome but finding it now days is pretty stuff around here.

I am well stocked with the Van Winkle line. There is something about those wheated bourbons that just gets ethereal north of 10 years of age. Of the Van Winkle line I actually prefer the 10 and 12 year old expressions. Another favorite is WL Weller 12 and Old Weller Antique but again like Elijah Craig near impossible to find right now around here.

@tenessee Dave I'm starting to think I like the lot B more than the rest now. It could be the "old" bottle ;) you traded me. Maybe just because of when I opened it.
Also was just gifted this by the original PVW lover on BOTL. @Herfin Harg.

It's in Col Taylor single barrel right now. And I'm impressed to be honest.

Can we get a thread title edit, please? My OCD/Grammar Police side is really missing the "you". Thanks! (y)
The House of Bourbon was a royal family whose members ruled France as well as Spain, and Luxembourg from the 16th to the 19th century. They have decendants still alive today. This thread was clearly created to update you on what they are drinking. There is no grammatical error here.

Any of you guys have a line on any of the Parker Heritage Collection? That's one I haven't tried and would really like to do so.
