Second round with my "Balkan Fauxbranie" after Ian Barnes told me today he is loving the sample I sent and wants a half pound. Balkan blend it is not, but it is turning into a very tasty VA/oriental blend that can be an all day smoker.

I'm fairly new to pipe tobacco so I won't be offended if ssomeone says "bro, you're way off" but here's my novice take about 30 mins into my first bowl:
It's MM 965, more refined. It reminds me a lot of it, just done better. The flavors are more prevalent. Initially I get an incense taste. Not my favorite but it fades into an earthy, leathery taste. I took a puff about a minute ago and can still pick up the leathery taste so it definitely hangs around.
Would I buy it again, yeah. Would I go to great lengths, or overpay to get it, probably not.

I heard it is a very complex tobacco, many layerscand transitions. Just a nice taste, strange, and complex.
Picked up some of that stout the other day as well. Def heavy on the coffee if that's your thing.

Can't say much for the room note. I'm smoking this one on the back porch, got a steady breeze, and the wife's not here to tell me if she likes it or not... Though anytime I ask her if she likes one or not I get " it's not vanilla custard" so I wouldn't trust her opinion anyway
I will say this though. The deeper in the bowl I get the more I like it. I change my last statement, I'd probably put in some effort to find this

I noticed that too, but it wasn't as bitter as some of the other stouts I've had, I may grab another six pack of this..
