Here's the end product for today:
2016-08-24 22.53.50.jpg

I need to get better/faster at this. A couple hours before the kids get up in the am, then rotate periodically during the day, the wrap 'em up after everyone else goes to bed! My stinking alarm will go off in 4 hours and 43 mintutes, this can't happen this way often...

Hopefully they'll taste better than they look!

Don't stress man, and definitely don't rush it. That's a hard lesson I've learned. Even if I have the time but my head isn't in it, the sticks stay in the mold an extra day. Break it up. Bunch one day, wrap the next. If you have enough time, bunch some more the day you wrap to have more to wrap the next day or day after that. Doing it this way I can pump out ten sticks a day most days if I have a few extra hours broken up throughout the day. That tobacco ages well though, no need to rush.

So the person that ordered those crazy long sticks punked me and isn't responding to messages so I put a post out on Instagram and have had a pretty amazing response. The problem: most people don't want to smoke a 10"-12" long cigar. The solution: cut them in half and place a "flat cap" on the lower half allowing people to acquire them "2 for 1"

Fortunately you got paid 50% upfront, ammarite?
Dude at the New Orleans Cigar Factory told me one of their local customers always buys the lancero and cuts it in half to get max value.
If you've got any proper 12-inchers there, someone could cut'em three ways. The middle 4 would be the $5 cigar, the foot would be the $4, and the head-end would be the $3. Some cigar inches are worth a buck; some more. Some less. ;)

Unfortunately I was a dumbass and didn't ask for anything upfront because I trust people more than I should. In the end, I'm getting more per stick this way, but shipping costs are eating into that. Lesson learned, and next time someone wants a custom order I'm taking 100% upfront

These are from the mold. It's listed as a 52x7 mold but it's really a 50x6.75. These sticks are 6.25. The "Kentucky" one uses a wrapper from Big Bonner; the "Corojo" one uses WLT. The rest are Jorge CT Shade. I like the bright pale yellow of the Kentucky and I'm hoping it'll smoke now that I've given it 8 months of age. It was too young before. I've also been assured by three WLT people that the current Corojo Oscuro burns wonderfully, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. The disturbing thing about rolling torpedoes is it's a lot tougher to check the draw as you go. You basically gotta use the exact tech and leaf amount on a batch and then check the draw in 2.5 months. If it worked, do that thing again. Fortunately I can do that since I actually weigh my leaf. These are exactly 6g per priming, and each final stick weighs exactly 15g.
