A buddy of my gave me a small 12 bottle wine cooler this weekend. They are moving and his wife didn't want to keep it because it made too much noise now. He already has a wineador so he didn't argue. Told her he would get rid of it. I brought it home, cleaned the fans and now you can barely hear it. The brand is an Aficionado. It is a dual zone. The top zone only goes up to 54 degrees. The bottom 64. The idea is to keep CCs in the top and NCs in the bottom. Is that temperature too low for either cigars? I need to know before I start building trays for it.

I didn't look it up but make sure it's thermoelectric or you will have RH problems. Compressor run systems will pull humidity out just like your refrigerator.

If it is thermoelectric keep it. If not and you have a cold stable place to put it just don't plug it in. You can add external temp control unit to keep it from getting that cold though. There are write ups on here somewhere.

It is thermoelectric. That's why I took it. It has temperature controls. It's just the top zone settings are from 54 degrees and down. The lower zone is 64. If 54 degrees isn't too cold I'm going to get some beads and go for it. I guess I can always unplug the top and see if the bottom can keep up both.

54 is too cold, do you have to plug it in? If so then you can just hook up two temperature controllers up and set them both exactly were you want them temp wise.

I live in Texas and haven't had either of mine plugged in for at least the last six months and haven't had any issues
