Hi everyone. Really glad to be here.
I'm a practicing health professional, research scientist, book and journal author, lecturer, etc. Keeps me busy. My hobby passions are cars and cigars. Probably becaues they're inexpensive hobbies! NOT! LOL!

My son introduced me to cigars back in 2003, and I've loved them ever since. I drew up blueprints and had a 10-foot-long humidor custom made for me in Florida, and shipped to me here in So. Cal. I stained it, added features to it and built it into a 10-foot archway in my home. It's my baby.

It has beveled glass on both sides and on the top. The top three panels open for access to the humi. It has electronic humidification and an air conditioning unit at the far left that you can see. I added 10 mini computer fans up under the sides to circulate the air 24/7. And I put in LED lights on both sides up under the framework. The LEDs are on a wall switch.
This is what it looks like at night with all the room lights turned off:

Next are the views from the top with the doors open on all three sections, from right to left:

YOu can see the air conditioning unit on the left above.
I prefer a punch to a cutter because it just feels cleaner and better in my mouth. But that often results in a draw that's a bit snug. So my favorite cigar tool in the world is the PerfecDraw.

And by the way, I am the developer of that instrument that I just showed - the PerfecDraw. We dentists have very cool tools, and the draw of a cigar is important to me. So I made myself something like this years ago. But every time I used it, people told me I should make it available. So just for fun, that's what I did. Just sort of a fun thing to do.

If you're curious, you can check out the videos at www.PerfecDraw.com

And I guess we'll leave cars for another time. ;)
I hope to meet some great folks here and make some good friends.

Thanks!

My go to stick. Well... it's the Montecristo #2 (the Chinese cigar ;) if you know what I mean). In fact, that is THE cigar that most prompted me to develope the new PerfecDraw draw adjustment instrument. Those Monte #2's are usually on the tight side -- especially in the tapered tip region. I like the feel of the tapered tip, so I didn't want to keep cutting it more and more to increase the draw. That was the start of the long journey that culminated in 2 years of engineering and manufacturing development.
If you're curious, you can watch how it works on the videos at www. PerfecDraw.com.

I'm in Coto de Caza (the "home" of the Real Housewives of Orange County) grrrr!! Everyone here HATES those idiots.
I was just at a cigar gathering this Wedneday at a relatively new restraunt in Laguna Beach called Central. Nice place, and upstairs they have a beautiful deck with fire pits, etc. And you can order drinks, appetizers, etc.
Sorry, I won't be around on Saturday though.
We may soon start advertising in Cigar & Spirits Magazine, so tonight I and my management team attended a great event at the Nolet Spirits company (Kettle One Vodka and other spirits). The family-owned company is now 325 years old -- still the Nolet family. It was to honor the 11th generation Nolet, Carl Nolet, Jr. for being on the next cover of Cigar & Spirits Magazine. Great event, and Carl is one heckuva nice guy. AMAZING place.
We had great food, great drinks, great entertainment and great hand-rolled cigars on the patio - cigars were rolled right there for us. Very cool. It's in Aliso Viejo.
So where are YOU located?
