Hello! I'm very new to cigars. Never been a smoker (not even cigarette).

I was curious when I saw and ad for a humidor combo. The price was right so I went for it. Boy, that was a mistake...because now I am HOOKED :).

I'm still learning to enjoy the taste but it's the science that got me interested. Looking forward to learn from you all

Thank you for the warm welcomes.

Judging from the reviews on the forum, it looks like I've made a rookie mistake by purchasing a Po Boy sampler! :)
I say there's nothing wrong with that. There's enough cigars with different characteristics to please everybody, and nobody can tell you what you like. At some basic level even good and bad can be subjective. A "bad" cigar can be a good lesson. A "good" cigar can be a bad experience (to wit: the Opus X I bought last week was less enjoyable than the mixed-filler La Finca I got for $3.) You can learn just as much about cigars and what you like from crap as from from what the masses say you should like. My $.02.

Welcome from Seattle. If you live on the West side you should check out some of the cigar lounges, some of the friendliest and knowledgeable tobacconists. Smokey Joes is a weekly stop for me!

There's nothing wrong that, everybody has to start somewhere. You could actually look at it as a good thing as starting at the cheap end of the pool leaves you TONS of room to explore and expand your tastes. I think that smoking "cheap" or "bad" sticks when you start will make you appreciate the "better" cigars as your palette develops and you figure out what you like.

Welcome from Virginia.

No mistake on that purchase. How else will you know what you like. Some expensive sticks seem a waste for the money. Some less expensive are surprisingly good.
