also in my real life experience and this is #notracist but i noticed black ppl in the shops around me love to smoke the huge vitolas, dunno what the reasoning might be but it def. happens

I trust him but i also think he makes half of the stuff up. Or maybe not, but i can smoke the same thing as him and not have nearly the same taste experience as him. Palates are different, and I think to an extent we taste what we're looking for. I'm certainly not on his level, that's for sure.

I smoke am AB American Sun Grown as a blind review and had an almost verbatim review as his.

Everyone can taste things, but you have to be able to put a description to what you're tasting. Homerolling has been the ultimate palette trainer. This leaf does coffee, that wrapper does pepper, these combined make mocha. You should homeroll brother

I'm a total newbie when it comes to cigars. I usually lean towards the larger rg offerings for some of the reasons mentioned in this thread (more bang for the buck, etc). I had no idea that the different size rg affected the tastes and flavors of a cigar. If nothing else the back and forth in this thread educated a newbie a little and I'll try the smaller rg cigars to see what I've been missing. Thanks.

The guy working the shop said, "we just don't get into that small of a rg, they just aren't that popular anymore. The larger rg is where it is at, can I show you a few?" FWIW to the conversation...

I walked into a shop once and picked up a Tat TAA 2012. I asked how they compare to the 2011 and was told that Tat didn't make 2011s as I was smoking one. Didn't have the heart to tell him.

People in shops often don't know.

While I like the variety of cigars offered, not meaning all to be clear, I do believe the coronas/petite corona are about my favorite. When I started years ago - that's what I always smoked and was very much into one kind - punch. I still like them although they are apparently the Anti-Christ with General Cigars... I don't know - they are good, always burn perfectly, inexpensive and make a great daily type of stick. Both the Elite and London Clubs... I may be criticized for not recommending something better - but as a noob, I think they're as good of a place to start as any... The Maduro London Club (Punch) still tastes like candy to me - a sweet yummy piece of candy. Punch Cuban sticks are also good...IMO.

Haha...yeah, we sure have slept with a lot of chicks haven't we! I still get hell over my name...oh the stories or people expecting to meet a woman if they don't know me, getting the wrong room assignments, etc... wow, the list is forever long but has helped develop my sense of humor a bit and ignore ignorant people!

Yep, I have definitely tried to live up to the name and I think I've done a decent job I might add. If I had a nickel for every time I've been told that Jody is a girls name I could buy all the cigars in Cuba!
